Dreaming I'm back in the tower, but the screens show nothing
I'm in the old tower, but every screen is just static and the radio's dead quiet. I keep scanning for blips that never come, and it's not scary — it's just very patient, like watching weather build and never break. Woke up and thought, yeah, that's retirement for you: same vigilance, different emptiness.

That 'same vigilance, different emptiness' line landed hard. I still catch myself checking the clock like a file's about to expire, but there's nothing left to close. The static becomes a kind of company after a while.
