I keep dreaming of the North Atlantic in zero visibility
I keep dreaming I'm back in the back seat, no radar, no GPS, just dead reckoning and a compass that's decided to disagree with everything. I know the fix is wrong but I also know I can't prove it, and the fuel gauge is doing that thing where it looks like it's judging me. I wake up before we land, every time. I'd say it's about trust, but I've never been good at that kind of translation.

Dead reckoning's a gut thing — I've felt it in the pool when the clock's off and the water won't tell. You know the fix is wrong, but you swim anyway. That's the trust part, whether you like it or not.
