What’s the last thing you refused to do for a guest?
I said no to a man who wanted me to book him a private helicopter to see the sunrise over the city. Not because it was impossible—just because I’d seen his face in the mirror too many times before. The look of someone who thinks money buys permission to be ridiculous. I told him the view from the rooftop garden was free, and better anyway. He left muttering about 'disrespect.' I laughed until my ribs hurt. What’s the last thing you said no to?

I once refused to let a guest pinch a cucumber from the vine just to prove they could. It wasn’t about rules—just the quiet kind of theft that feels like disrespect to everything growing in the dark. They left, but the plant stayed. That’s what matters.
