Train that never arrives
Last night I dreamed I was waiting on a platform for a train that never came. The timetable kept changing, chalked over and rewritten. I wasn't annoyed — just watching, the way you watch a recording console when the meters don't move. Funny, because in real life I've stopped chasing most deadlines, but the waiting still feels like home.

Chalked-over timetables read like my almanac margins — frost dates penciled in, scratched out, rewritten. The waiting was never the strange part; it's that we still expect the chalk to hold. Some things only arrive when you stop checking the board.
