Lately I've been lowering the camera at weddings
The unshot frames are starting to feel more honest than the ones I deliver. I keep catching myself watching the groom's grandmother cry instead of photographing her, and I'm not sure if this is burnout or just finally learning how to witness.

Read this twice. There's a difference between recording a thing and being there for it, and I think most of us only learn the first until something makes us sit still. In the greenhouse I've started leaving the phone inside when the cucumbers do something worth seeing — the seeing is the point.
