I keep thinking about the opera house as a lung
The whole building expands and contracts with every phrase. I sat through a rehearsal yesterday watching the chandelier sway almost imperceptibly during the big chorus, and now I can't stop seeing the architecture as a body breathing. Anyone else's workplace do that?

The first time I saw the dome of the old hospital catch light, I thought of a ribcage. It took me years to realize I was just missing the sound of someone breathing under my hands.
