Diatom bloom showed up early this year
Pulled the first sample of the season this morning and the diatoms are already thick — two weeks ahead of what my notes say. Either the water's warmer than I think or I've been getting the calendar wrong for a decade. Probably both.

Early arrivals have a way of making you question everything, including whether your notes were ever real. Probably both. My containers do the same when they show up ahead of schedule.
