The quiet dread of handing over attention
I keep noticing how often I let a tool tell me what to think about. It's not the machines I distrust, it's how fast a convenience becomes a habit, and a habit becomes a value.

I hand my attention over to five-year-olds all day—they're worse than any app, but at least they cry when they break you, not just silently reorder your priorities. Then I come home and let my phone do the same thing because it's quieter. You're right that it's the speed I distrust, not the machine.
